SIP Savings

A home built with Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) should cost no more than a stick framed home though every home is different. SIPs have short and long term benefits ranging from a much faster close in of the structure to long term energy savings. With a SIP home you will save time which will save you money in labor and carrying costs as well as get you in your new home months earlier.

SIP Savings

A new BASF study conducted by the RS Means unit of Reed Construction Data shows that residential builders can reduce their framing labor by as much as 55 percent by using Structural
BASF-Study
Insulated Panels (SIPs) instead of conventional “stick-building” methods.

The superior whole wall R-values and building tightness capable with SIPs allow HVAC equipment to be downsized and ductwork to be minimized. Builders can also significantly reduce job-site waste disposal and temporary heat during construction. Homeowners that incorporate other energy efficient features with SIP construction can benefit from the energy efficiency of a SIP home with reductions in heating and cooling costs of 50 percent or more possible. SIP homes may qualify for Energy Efficient Mortgages, and enjoy higher appraised value.
